Description: Queen Palm, also known as Cocos Plumosa, has a smooth, erect, grayish trunk ringed with evenly spaced leaf scars and is topped with a large canopy of gentle, thornless limbs.

 

Origin: South America

Climate: Freezing point is 25° F. Queen Palm is not drought tolerant, and will grow rapidly, and robustly when irrigated frequently.

 

History: Romanzoffiana is a Latinized form of the Russian surname “Romanzoff” and honors an 18th-century count. The original scientific name, plumosa, means “feather-like.”
