Description: Florida sabal is exceptionally easy cultivate and very fast growing. This palm tree is especially attractive when planted in groups. It often flowers and fruits while still quite young. Sabal palmetto loves sandy soil, as it is often found growing in coastal areas.
 

Origin: Southeastern U.S., Bahamas, Cuba
 

Climate: Tropical and subtropical regions. Can be found in coastal dunes, tidal flats, savannas, swamps, alongside streams, etc.
 

History: Palmetto means a “small palm,” although it is by no means small at mature height. Sabal palmetto is also often referred to as Cabbage Palm.
